Welcome to the February 2024 edition of the 5GMED Monthly Digest, keeping you updated on our progress and latest developments as we work towards a sustainable 5G deployment model for future mobility in the Mediterranean Cross-Border Corridor. 

🇫🇷 Face-to-Face Meeting in Paris 

On February 6, 2024, the Cellnex office in Paris hosted a face-to-face meeting of the 5GMED project’s consortium. The consortium has set the dates for the final demonstration days on June 26-27, 2024. This event will serve as an opportunity to showcase the project’s final results to the European Commission and a wider audience comprising policymakers, media, experts, and other stakeholders. During the meeting, detailed updates and forthcoming actions from each work package were presented, aligning our efforts for success.

📝 New Scientific Article 

Check out the latest paper prepared by 5GMED consortium partners Nearby Computing and Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya: “NSFaaS: Network Slice Federation as a Service in Cloud-Native 5G and Beyond Mobile Networks.”  

This paper introduces Network Slice Federation as a Service (NSFaaS), a novel cloud-native orchestration framework for network slice federation.
