The 5GMED Final Public Event

On June 27th, the 5GMED consortium team celebrated the culmination of four years of dedicated effort at Castell de Peralada. The event showcased the project’s results in developing a 5G deployment model for future mobility within the Mediterranean Cross-Border Corridor between Spain and France. The agenda was packed with presentations and live demonstrations.

If you missed it, read about the event on our blog or watch the video resume.

The Final Review

The day before the public event, on June 26th, the European Commission evaluated the outcomes of the project across four use cases. It was an intense day filled with numerous presentations, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. As we approach the official end of the 5GMED project in August 2024, the consortium is now working on the final deliverables.

5GMED at Industry Events

The 5GMED project, in collaboration with 5G-Routes, participated in the 2024 EuCNC & 6G Summit held from June 3-6 in Antwerp, Belgium. This year’s theme, “6G: From Vision to Reality,” highlighted the global readiness to transition to 6G technology. Our team demonstrated real-world applications and results in 5G deployment, crucial for future mobility in the Mediterranean cross-border corridor.

Our consortium partner, i2CAT, represented the 5GMED project at the 2024 IEEE 99th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2024-Spring) in Singapore from June 24-27. This semi-annual flagship conference of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society brought together professionals from academia, government, and industry to discuss and share advancements in wireless, mobile, and vehicular technology.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement with the 5GMED project.

Best regards,
The 5GMED team
